How Can middle Back Pain Along With Stomach Pain Be Treated?

Since this past Tuesday morning I have had mid back pain that wrapped around to my stomach. The last 3 days the stomach pain has increased tremendously. The pain is on the left side and it is getting to hard to take a deep breath. Something feels like it is going to erupt.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the painful situation you are going through.

The pain you are feeling on your left side getting hard to take a deep breath is suggestive of possible gastrointestinal problem:
- severe constipation: the distended bowels will put pressure on abdominal nerves and on diaphragm causing difficulty in breathing
- as you had this pain around your stomach first and mid back, and if associated with burning sensation, then, stomach ulcer/gallbladder and uro-genital problems should be considered and ruled out

Further tests recommended like:
- abdominal ultrasound
- complete blood count
- urine analysis

For the moment, I advise to take spasmex to relieve the pain until you see your doctor.

Wish fast recovery.
